Today I had my first live stream and it was a great, albeit frightening, experience.
I’ve never been a fan of being in front of crowds. Even when I know that I know what I’m doing it’s still intimidating and today was no different. But I’m glad that I did it. This first stream is part one of a three part streaming series this month on how to model a hi-res katana sword in Blender. What I really wanted to do for you guys in this video was break down the why behind the how. Most tutorials just show you how to do something without telling you why it’s important that you learn to do it that way. I always want you guys to walk away knowing how to do something, but if you never understand why then you’ll never know how to change things and improve on your own. So I spend a lot of time explaining my approach to the design for this model, the concept art, how I want to tackle building it in Blender, all before jumping into 3d. Let me know what you think, I always love hearing from you about how I’m doing. Let me know if it helps. And keep on Blending!
